The leadership of DC Investment Fund has backgrounds in re-development, ground-up construction, asset management, finance, fundraising, marketing, and human resources, which has allowed the company to realize success in many asset classes. The team has competently navigated major economic investment cycles since 1999.
Dean J. Zaracotas
Managing Member –
Head of Acquisitions & Asset Management
Dean has resided between California, Hong Kong, and Europe since 2009, running a private investment firm for a high-net-worth family office. Dean previously worked for Rutherford Investments, a $2+ billion California private investment fund based in Mill Valley and Los Gatos, California. His role as an associate was acquisitions and asset management of over 5,000+ residential/mobile home park units and 500,000+ sq. ft. of retail / mixed-use ground-up developments. In 2005, he began his real estate career as a broker for CBRE and Marcus Millichap in the San Francisco offices, where he specialized in shopping center dispositions and leasing. He graduated in Accounting & Marketing from Cal-State Hayward. Concurrently, he received continued education accreditation from the Wharton Business School, specifically Joint Venture Developments and Partnerships. He also asset manages and develops his family’s portfolio of commercial real estate in Northern California.
Christopher R. Baker
Managing Member –
Head of Construction & Strategy
For over 30 years, Chris has built a successful commercial construction company based in San Mateo and Sacramento in Northern California and Orange County in Southern California. The company specializes in properties that require tenant improvement build-outs, ground-up construction, and repositioning within the multifamily, biotech, office, and industrial sectors. His construction clients are companies such as Google, Apple, Microsoft, Twitter, Genentech, Gilead Sciences, JLL, and CBRE. He graduated from Santa Clara University in Business Administration. Chris has a personal real estate portfolio of office and industrial assets in Northern California.
Eric R. Birnholtz
Jr. Partner –
Head of Leasing & Site Development
Eric is an associate at Mid-America Real Estate in the Michigan office. Since 2018, Eric has assisted in acquisitions, dispositions, development, and leasing of primarily retail properties. Eric graduated from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University with a degree in Finance and Real Estate and is currently the alumni coordinator for the Indiana University Real Estate Department in Michigan. Eric is also a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).
